Denson Paul Pollard

Biographie

Denson Paul Pollard a rejoint le New York Metropolitan Opera Orchestra en septembre 2007. En tant que membre de la section des trombones, il joue aussi bien le trombone basse que le trombone ténor, ainsi que la trompette basse lors des représentations du Ring de Wagner. Denson Paul Pollard était auparavant, de 2001 à 2007, trombone basse du Hong Kong Philharmonic.
Denson Paul Pollard est lauréat du Master of Musical Arts degree et du Doctorate of Musical Arts in performance and pedagogy de l’Université de l’Iowa, où il était Professeur assistant de musicologie, jazz et trombone. Aujourd’hui, il est membre de la faculté de cuivres au Mannes College of Music de New York et enseigne l’été au Pacific Music Festival de Sapporo.
Denson Paul Pollard est très actif en tant que soliste et chambriste. Il a donné des récitals en solo à travers le monde et s’est produit au Eastern Trombone Workshop à Washington, au Polish Trombone Festival à Zyiec, à l’Asian Trombone Festival à Taipei et au Sliderasia Festival à Hong Kong. Il a enregistré en solo trois disques, intitulés "Up From Below,” “Point in Time” et “Listening.” On peut également l’entendre sur deux disques gravés par le MET Opera brass.
Denson Paul Pollard est un artiste Courtois. Il joue en exclusivité les trombones Courtois.

 

Biography

Denson Paul Pollard joined the New York Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in September 2007.  As a member of the trombone section, he performs on bass and tenor trombone, as well as bass trumpet for the MET Ring performances. Denson Paul Pollard was before the bass trombonist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic from 2001 to 2007. 
Denson Paul Pollard was awarded the Master of Musical Arts degree and the Doctorate of Musical Arts in performance and pedagogy from the University of Iowa, where he served as a teaching assistant in the areas of musicology, jazz and applied trombone. Currently, he is a member of the brass faculty at the Mannes College of Music in New York and he is a faculty member of the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo during summer. 
Denson Paul Pollard is very active as a soloist and chamber musician. He has performed solo recitals all over the world and has been featured at the Eastern Trombone Workshop in Washington,  the Polish Trombone Festival in Zyiec, the Asian Trombone Festival in Taipei and the Sliderasia Festival in Hong Kong. He has recorded three solo CDs entitled "Up From Below,” “Point in Time” and “Listening.” He can also be heard on two brass ensemble CD’s by the MET Opera brass.
Denson Paul Pollard is a Courtois performing artist and plays Courtois trombones exclusively.
